Could be a silly question, but any ideas on how I can get my site plan to show something that looks like a lake?
Any ideas would be really appreciated!
Thank you!

Well you could model the topo mass of the bottom, create a generic model, mass extrusion, and subtract the topo mass from it (leaving you with a generic mass the shape of the lake. Select a blue color material, set the transparency to say 30% or something like that to give it a clear look. You could also apply a material map to it to give you that light wave look. Just a thought.
For a rendering, I would just model the topo representing the bottom and sides of the lake, then place a transparent floor object with a water material at the desired water level elevation. Just make the outline of the floor be larger than where the actual water edge will be, and you should get the correct look in a rendered view.
Create a toposurface.
Then, use a Pad, and make the Pad have a Site-Water Material. Make the Pad whatever shape you need in plan.
The Pad will cut into the toposurface, and you can specify the depth of the Pad
and change it as required.
This has worked very well for us on projects with several lakes/ponds,
and even swimming pools.
cheers...........
Thanks for your reply's. It makes more sense now, and shouldn't be difficult. We won't be rendering the model, that's another program.
Thanks again! I hope to have this done over the weekend, I hope it looks reasonable.
Ciao
1. create a top and apply grass material
2. create a building pad in required shape and adjust offsets and apply water material
3. addition to that you can create a wall around the lake and apply concrete material
4. place camera and change eye level about 15'6" so you can view lake from top clecarly
5. render it by best quality.
