Shop Drawing Dimensions

I work for an electrical contractor and we are working on a project that requires everything to be modeled in 3D before it is installed. Right now, I am trying to create a "shop drawing" which is something I haven't done before. I need to rotate my drawing and then place dimensions on the rotated part. Is there an easy way to do this. So far, it seems the dimensions want to be on only the "Top" view. I essentially need to create a section view with dimensions but I didn't learn that in any of my classes. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

It is easier than you think. Set a UCS in the orientation that you need. You may want to save that UCS as a named UCS so you can restore it when you need.

You can also use the Plan command to change the view to the plan view for the current UCS.

Thank you for the response but I still haven't figured out how to get the text to show when I rotate the drawing. If I try to insert text (mtext) or a dimension, the text seems to be going on the "top" view and the dimensions are not accurate. I have decided that I can do it all manually and type the information in on the layouts but I would prefer the dimension lines and text so that I can add additional dimensions easily instead of measuring and then typing the information on top of the paper in the layout tab.

I think I have it working now. I wasn't getting the UCS on the right face evidently. Thank you again for your assistance.
