Default cant check in features - features remain in edit set

I am trying to create a join, but when I do so I get the following message:
Feature was not saved in the target feature source
    Message details:
Features remain in the Edit Set.

So I highlight my data and click "check-in features" or I click "select checked out features" and then "check-in features" and I get the message:
Feature was not saved in the target feature source
    Message details:
    -Failed to update feature
    -1=Failed to execute Fdo command
    -2=Int32Value is null

I think this might be because my "FeatId" property has many "null" values and is data type Int32 or because my "export_sdf_id" property which is also data type Int32 is grayed out. My schema editor will not let me edit anything either.
    What should I do?
    Thanks

Im trying to join an ODCB to an SDF. The SDF has geometry points and some of the data I need, the ODCB which comes from an excel file has all the data I need.
