    Default Migration

Could someone please clarify the exact meaning of 'migrate'? If I migrate my current settings does this mean that the settings are removed from the computer of origin? I really want to copy my settings and preferences without deleting then original source but I read the warnings literally on the 'Migrate' dialogue box and it seems to mean 'cut' rather than 'copy'.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

usually means to move from a older version of something to a newer version of something.

Assuming you are referring to the Migration Assistance tool in AutoCAD, you can expect your "custom" settings in the old software to be copied into the new version. Note this tool will not remove anything from the old version, just attempt to duplicate it. However, I have experienced mixed results with the utility and typically recommend against using it.
