    Default R-MEP 2010 install broke ABS07

Don't know quite where to post this.
Mods..please move it as you see fit.

We are running R14 (I know), ABS 2007, and have just installed R-MEP 2010 on a few computers.

When I installed (a network license 32-bit system version) R-MEP 2010, the i-dropper function of the Content Browser in ABS 07 is now broken. It does not give any error codes, so I can't post anything on it. It shows up, it looks like it will i-drop in and then it just disappears.

    Any ideas??

My gues is a dll, arx or dbx file has been overwritten??

I can fix it for you.

You need to use RegEdit, locate:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{34d71ea5-7e74-4bb5-84da-fd59b4f63c52}\InProcServer32

Edit the Default key to be:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AcInetEngineps16.dll

Unhappily, I think you will find that when you run Revit, that key value may switch back to AcInetEngineps18.dll rather than stay at 16. So you may need to keep a registry file handy to quickly merge the fix.

    Robert

I've got this same thing happening to my Architecture 2009...one day the I-drop just stopped working. Ameador's description is exact what my machine is doing. I now have to use Design Content to get the objects.

I must have done something but I can't think what it may have been. We haven't installed 2010 because of the file format conflict. And 2009 was working fine until a few weeks ago.

Would this fix work for me? I'd try it but I'm not a techie and don't like messing with the registry unless I know exactly what I am doing.

    Thanks, Tom

    Thank you Robert!
    We'll take a look.
Do I just need to find a computer that has the "16" file on it and copy that across, I assume?

    Robert,

I had found that these files were also "altered" during the R-MEP 2010 installation. Do I need to worry about any of them as well?

P's computer did not get R-MEP installed on it.
    R's computer had R-MEP 2010 installed on 10-26-09 around 4:00pm.

If I search through here to see what has changed between P's and R's under the
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared these files changed
    Code:
    	AcAxDb17enures.dll P: 03-05-06	R: (has 18 instead of 17): 02-09-09
    	AcAuthEntities17enures.dll P: 03-05-06	R: (has 18 instead of 17): 02-09-09
    	acadauto.chm P: 02-14-06	R: 02-09-09
    	LiveUpdate16.dll P: 03-05-06	R: 02-09-09
    	WSCommCntr1.exe P: 03-05-06	R: 02-09-09
    	WebServices1.dll P: 03-05-06	R: 02-09-09
    	AcInetEngineps16.dll	P: 08-12-06	R (has 18 instead of 16): 02-09-09
    	AcInetEngine16.dll P: 08-12-06	R (has 18 instead of 16): 02-09-09
    	AcSignCore16.dll P: 08-12-06	R: 02-09-09
          C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Service folder these files changed
    	AdskNetSrv.exe P: 08-12-06 R: 06-05-08
    	AdskScSrv.exe P: 05-31-06 R: 09-05-07
I did a search on R's computer for files that were changed since 10-23-09, these were the only files that came up.
    IEExecRemote.dll
    System.EnterpriseServices.dll
    System.EnterpriseServices.Wrapper.dll

    It WORKED!!!!
Awesome, thank you very much Robert!

My IT guy knew what you were talking about on editing it.
It fixed 4 of our computers.

Interestingly enough, so far the fix is holding. We went into ABS did some stuff, closed out, went into R-MEP threw in some duct, closed out, and went back to ABS and it was still working. Went into the regkey and double checked and it was holding.

    Again, many many thanks!

    Tom,

Installing DWG TrueView 2010, Design Review 2010, (guessing, due to its intergration with TV), or installing Revit 2010 will cause this issue.

I can post a TXT file that is a REG file if you want to use that to merge rather than manually editing the registry.

I don't think you will have any trouble. I've been running side-by-side installs of 2008 and 2010 for over 6 months and the iDropper issue is the only conflict I've noticed.

    No kidding?

DWG TrueView 2010, Design Review 2010 ruins this key as well as R-MEP 2010?

    Does Autodesk know about this?

I think that R-Arch 2010 is doing the same thing to ADT07.
