That's just some crazy stuff.
I really appreciate the help Robert!
You made my day
I'd rather post q's than bang my head against a wall and look stupid.
I spoke with my reseller and they had not heard of this issue.
They know now!
Thanks Robert, but...
I made the change in the registry, rebooted, opened ACA 2009 and tried to drop something onto a palette. No dice, still acting the same as it was. Any other ideas?
BTW, should I return to the registry and change back?
Thanks, Tom
Sorry for the delay in getting back to this; I was speaking at a 2-day indistry event.
There was no need to reboot. Just merge the REG file before running AutoCAD.
Try merging and immediately running AutoCAD. If that still does not work, please export that CLSID and post the resulting file as a TXT. Unhappily for you I skipped the 2009 release but I don't believe the DLL filename changed between 2008 and 2009. You could browse to the specified folder and look at what DLLs are located there.

Robert
Shortly after my last post I lost all the panels and tabs for my Ribbon. Start-up just gave me a blank ribbon with a message about no panels or tabs available. Nothing I did would bring them back so I reloaded ACA 2009 from the control panel. I still had a blank ribbon but at least when I went to "customize" I had content in the "Panel" and "Tabs" sections so I could rebuild the Ribbon.
Still can't use I-drop though so it must be something in the registry. Unfortunately I didn't do an uninstall before I did the reload so I never cleared the registry. At this point I'm going to have to wait until we get less busy before I can play with it again.
Thanks for all your help.
Tom

That's what we had been doing on a couple other installations but mine lost everything. ACA seems to be getting quirkier every new iversion.
Thanks for all you tips, Tom
Robert,
I have this problem too in AutoCAD Architecture 2008 after architect installed DWG TrueVIew2010 on my machine.
Would your fix work for me?
I do not have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{34d71ea5-7e74-4bb5-84da-fd59b4f63c52}\InProcServer32 in my registry editor.
Should I look for different key?
I would appreciate help very much, since dragging objects through tool palletes is not an option for us.
