Default Saving Files to OLD Version

I have a bunch of DWG files saved in 2007 format and I need to send them to a consultant who uses an old version of aAutoCad, Is there a way to convert these files to an older format without opening AutoCad and resaving each one? Is there a program I can download that is able to perform this miricle?

Thanks in advance for your help

TrueView has the ability to batch convert drawings to earlier versions

It'd be good if it can be done in AutoCAD & without opening other programs.

yes, similar to Adobe's convert tools....I can select files within Explorer and right click, then choose "Convert to PDF", so handy!!!! no opening programs and doing Save-as a thousand times.

In that case download ScriptPro from ADesk's site. Create an SCR file containing the keyboard key presses you'd perform to get the job done (whatever your "job" is). Select the DWG's you want this to be performed on & run.

It'll open acad and open each DWG you've selected. Then send those keystrokes to acad so it does whatever the commands are.

Otherwise, are you using Sheet Set manager? If so you can set-up an eTransmit which saves back to an earlier version and eTransmit any selection of DWG's from the SSM project.

you do know that it's actually opening the file with the associated application and printing to PDF, right? it's not 'acrobat' doing any conversion, it's just the owning application printing to the pdf-writer using whatever defaults happen to be set.

If it's a Postscript file, then Adobe can actually convert that - but anything else it's just printing.

Yes I realize that, but the point is I can select 20 files and it will quickly print/save them to a different format without opening a big long loading program like ACAD. It would be nice to select 20 DWG files saved in 2007 format and choose convert to 97 format or whatever.

Just use Etransmit. You don't need to be using SSM to use it. It will convert all the drawings you select and zip them up for you. It'll even add them to an email if you set it up that way.

It does all this without opening any of the drawings. Well, it may do that in the background where you can't see it, but it works!
