Default Supressing parts in an assembly

I am using Inventor 2010 and am working on some assemblies with some parts variables. Within a part I know you can selectively suppress features based on certain criteria by using properties menu for a feature. Is there a way to do the same type of thing on parts within an assembly? I want to supress parts automatically if certain criteria are met.

    Thanks everyone

Depending on what you're looking for, try using an i-assembly. You can use an excel spreadsheet (built into the file) to suppress or enable parts, vary constraint and dimension values, and a number of other things.
