We have our piping set up so that all pipes are on a system (sanitary, domestic, etc). We use these systems in our tags, we filter by system to show the right things on the right view, and override graphics using the system filters to modify the color, thickness, and line type of the pipes. This works great except for one thing that I just discovered:
If I attempt to set a pipe to be demo'd, I get an error message that cannot be ignored "Elements need to be disconnected.", and the only way to proceed is by disconnecting the elements from the system. If I do so, I lose the ability to filter and tag the demo'd elements.
I thought perhaps a system must be complete within one phase, but even when I try to demo an entire system, I get the same error message followed by one saying that system will be deleted, as it disconnects all elements from the system.
I also looked into the system properties to see something where the lifespan might need defined on the system level, but found nothing.
I could simply let anything being demo'd be categorized as unassigned to a system and modify these by element in my demo views, but I would still lose the ability to tag by system.
Any suggestions?
