Wink Dimensioning outside crop regions still visible

This is something that has been nagging me for a while.

I think it was v6.0 that had the most preferred behaviour.

When creating setout plans, often when setting out curved walls the centrepoint is outside the crop region. Previously you could dimension from a grid inside the crop region to the point external to the crop region and the dimension would still display.

It has since been changed that if one of the references is outside the crop region, the dimension string will not show.

I'd prefer to see it revert back to the old way as now to dimension these centrepoints i have to extend the crop region right out, dimension, then use a filled region to block all the added information that i don't want.

Would not introducing a notion of radial dimension be a better choice? Radial dimension would allow selecting a point on an arc and dimensioning radius value without selecting arc center point. Many other CAD systems support this kind of dimension. This way if you want to dimension arc radius it does not matter if center point is outside of crop region or if it is visible.

That's a good point, but how will you know where your center point is? how will you setout a radial plan?
maybe we can have a show/hide center...? just thinking out laud

Show/Hide center is already there. Select an arc and observe its properties.

I think what eldad is trying to purvey, is it would be easier on the surveyor if they had x/y location with regards to grids for the arc centre point. Rather than them having to calculate it via locating two points on the circumference and using the radius.
