    Angry RST 2010 Fill regions

In RST 2010 the solid fill for filled regions does not show as transparent!! Can anyone give me a reason why or a solution to this.

It worked in RST 2009 and worked well. This is one of the few problems I have encountered with RST 2010 so far.

    Anthony.

Solid fill for transparency has never worked in Revit.
I don't know how it was possible for you to do this in 2009, but I would check again because this has been a long standing issue.

We did have the solid fill working as a transparent light shade in rst2009. Prior to using filters and duplicate views for LB walls and columns under, we used transparent filled regions to show this.....yes, time consuming, but it worked.

Now our legends that had this transparent shaded filled region shows solid. Have solved the problem at present with a very close spaced line hatch. Not ideal, but it has worked.

    Autodesk....fix this problem......very frustrating!!!!!

Ahh your talking of a shaded view

    Is this correct?

Be very careful with close hatches when it comes to printing time. I would run some checks to make sure it's all good.

Here's an example of one issue I came across a while back when using close spaced hatching.

(Visibility Overrides affected by Material Hatches
    Concrete Hatch used for Surface
    Cross hatch used for Cut
This allows a visibility override to print out a hatch at any size regardless.
Curtain walls precast panels - visbility issues.)

Depending on the material of the item and the object in question depends on if the hatch will print regardless of size.I have no idea how this works but it does so I recommend print tests to make sure all your items work with close hatching.

No I don't think I was talking about a shaded view.

While testing out the best solution to the problem at hand I have done a number of test prints and did notice that at a very close spacing, the filled region did not print. So I had to find a spacing that worked.

Thanks for your help with this.

I'm using Architecture and transparent Filled Regions are working just fine in a variety of view types. Surely, there wouldn't be any differences between the Revit products.

And yes, the transparency issue was fixed in (I think) 2009.

    Anthony

My apologies I completely missed the "Filled regions" area of the conversation.

I thought you were talking about Walls, graphic overrides for LB Under which is where I got mixed up.

I'm with Chad on this one, works fine on my machine.

It works in RAC 2010 in projects - but not in titleblocks or annotation/symbols, right?
If anybody knows how to get solid filled regions showing as transparent in families, please let me know.
