    Default Object Styles

The pad footings and wall footings come in as solid lines by default. When I go into object styles and change the solid lines to dashed lines, they still remain solid in the project. What do I have to change in order to make my footing lines dashed?

Check for any visibility graphic overrides within the view - by element and by category. If this is the case then anything you change within object styles will be ignored.

You will need to reset the override and it should appear correct.

Thanks for the tip. I went back and checked and nothing is over ridden. I did see while the dashed lines are not showing up in the plan view, the footings ARE showing up dashed in the 3d view.

    Any other suggestions?

    Strange....

Are the foundations joined to anything? I.e. a floor slab?

Try typing the shortcut LW and selecting <By Category> for the line type, then click on each of the foundations lines.

Maybe someone has manually overridden the line type.

Are you using phases in this project? It may have something to do with the graphic overrides for the element's phase status (existing, demo, new etc.). We had our existing elements set to solid lines for the longest time.. (how annoying!)
