Missing text in detail component?

Just loaded some detail components that contain some text into the project that I'm working on (Revit 7.0) and the text disappears. These detail components worked just fine in 6.1.

Any suggestions.

This is an old post that I'm reposting because I'm having the same problem in 8.1. I'm trying to convert AutoCAD details to Revit by creating detail component families. It looks fine in the family file, but when I "load into project" the text disappears. I can't figure it out and there nothing posted. Thanks in advance.

Tom, sorry I cant be of any help, I cant remember what the detail components this post was referring to or even if I resolved the problem.

You could try and post an example of the detail file so someone could have a look.

Paul, thanks for the suggestion. However, I may have figured it out. Does this happen to you: you feel you've exhausted your search for answers, then you search one more time and find the answer? It's kind of embarrassing to have posted.

It seems text in families is only for use in the family file. Once imported into other files, it disappears. This seems like a wish list item to have the option to show/hide text in project files.
