    Default 3dclip

I am working on models that have become extremely combersome due to gratuitous use of 3dclip. I need to go through and reorganize the drawing but this requires removing and clipping planes in viewports. Unfortunately the 3dclip command takes about 3-5 minutes to load and another 1-2 minutes to unload. This is too time consuming to simply flip some switches.

Is there any way to switch clipping planes off without loading the 3dclip command?

    Aha!

I found that I can use the _view command.

Now things are starting to pop.

This is a trick which I use constantly. What I would typically do is XREF the 3d model into new drawing and use XCLIP. Once you view it in 3d model, you can actually see the model being cut. It is very fast and you can do weird clipping as well.
