Default LTS magically sets itself to 40

I've been running into this ever since v.14, but just now decided to seek out a solution: All of the dwgs in my current project are set with an LTS of 1, but sometimes when I go back into them for edits I find the LTS set to 40. Only myself, the CAD Mgr, and the designer have been in the drawings and I've ruled out any of us making that change.

So what is making the LTS set itself to 40, and how do I stop it?

Could be connected to metric/imperial UNITS since 1mm is very nearly equal to 0.040".

Nah- LTS comes back as 40.000, not 39.370. But thanks for the effort.

Do a windows search on your C drive for any files with a *.LSP and *.MNL extension containing text LTSCALE. It may be something which loads for each DWG - usually inside an ACADDOC.LSP, but could be anywhere.

I got hopeful on this one. I searched my C drive as well as the designer's, but came up dry. ****. I thought this would've been one of those common bugs that everyone had experienced!

Set up a reactor and you will at least know exactly *when* it is happening.

Any third-party applications running on any of the stations? Many of those automatically set things such as LTSCALE when drawings are opened without alerting the user.

Well, I've loaded up that bit of lisp. Now I guess I'll just have to stumble into another screwy drawing. And the only third-party package we have running here is a standards package that the entire office is on... if it were the problem, everyone would be complaining; not just me.
