Nothing shows as in the editor window of AutoCAD, or in the add to map of the data connect, or nothing listed in the display manager? Is this in a new dwg with no coordinates assigned or an existing dwg? Can you view the data table and see any of the feature's attributtes? Try deleting the .idx file in the folder with the shp, shx, & dbf files.

I had to reinstall Autocad. Thanks for the help though.
What is an .idx file?
Just an index file created by map3d when you work with shp files.

Its really weird. I can start a new drawing and for some reason sometimes, we I click add to drawing, it unselects the file I need and will not add it to the map. I can go to another computer and it will work. then go back to my computer and it will be there.
With 2010 it does remove the check mark when you click add to map but it still adds that feature layer to the map. I suspect what is happening on your computer is it is taking longer to display the features and when you walk away for a while then come back it had enough time to connect to the features and display them in the map.

I am having the same issue today, but everything was working fine yesterday. I can read the schema data of the geodatabases or shp files, but when I select one and click the Add to Map button the layer information doesn't get added to the drawing and the selection gets unchecked. I think it may have something to do with the service pack that we just installed, but I'm submitting a support ticket to be sure.

-UPDATE: With the help of Autodesk I was able to confirm that my user account had somehow corrupted the AutoCAD Map settings specifict to my account as other users of the computer had no issues. After backing up the registry and current Map settings, I deleted a registry key which caused Map to re-install if you will to my account fixing the issues. Then I just had to import my profile and any custom CUI I had before to get back to normal.

K- it is still not working. I have tried to delete the idx. but it does not work. And since I can change computers and get it work, there is something else up. Its so inconsistant... This is really bad.
When I was having this issue the first thing Autodesk recommended was to clear the application's cache for FDO data. Here were the steps:
1.Open any drawing.
2.Type MAPOPTIONS and press Enter.
3.In the Map Options dialog, click the System tab.
4.Click Clear Cache.
5.Select "Log-file active," and select "Level 2: Error, warning and diagnostic messages." (These tasks will be helpful for additional troubleshooting later on, if it becomes necessary.)
6.Click OK.
7.Close and restart AutoCAD Map 3D 2010.
8.Try to reproduce the issue.
