How close on Interference check

Just how close does a light and an Air diffuser have to be to cause an interference? If they are touching or just barely overlapping it does not show up. Is there a setting we can get to?

OK - edit here - the light has to touch the 10" neck apparently. Is there a way to fix this????

Interference checking compares solids to solids....make sure the objects have actual solid geometry in the family that define the clearance "zone". You can build a solid in the family, and make it "not visible" which will still interfere, but not show in your project. Symbolic lines and other linework do not cause an interference.

When I run the Interference chk within my RMEP2010 project between Lighting Fixtures and Piping, does the light source create an interference? I have an under slab pipe thet conflicts with a clg mtd light and I'm not sure why. Does it matter which view you run the check and what you have turned on/ off? thanks - gary
