Default Select all instances on one level only

This tip is so idiotic that it barely rates as a tip, but ya know, whatever...

So we all know that using Select All Instances when you right-click an object selects all instances in the project, not just in your view. But what if you only want to select all instances in this view, or on one storey only?

The idiotic workaround: after you select all instances, click the sunglasses icon on the View Control Bar and Isolate Elements.

Click off somewhere to deselect all the objects. But all that's on your screen now are objects from the previous selection only in this view -- window-select them, and as long as your view range isn't allowing you to accidentally select other objects, you're done.

Not at all idiotic Wes! I've used that in the past but never thought of it as a tip. I'm not sure a lot of people know it so thanks for sharing. It ranks as a great tip in my opinion

The good tip mentioned is actually to select-all in a View. To do similar for one level, do the same actions in a full 3D view that is rotated to nearly an elevation angle. If you can see what level you are selecting, you've got it.

except for elements in Legend views, which is really a pain when you DO want to select all of that object in the project (change all of one text type to another text type, have to manually select it in each legend view ).

Great tip just had one of those "why did I not think of that before?" moments.... I have wanted to do this dozens of times, but never thought of doing it like that.

good tip, but you cannot reset temporary hide/isolate while still selected, the reason is sometimes you need some objects to reference to, for instance, move around, etc., why Autodesk cannot give RAC the selection set feature like RST?
