    Exclamation Section Plane Issues

Please help me with some issues using the 'sectionplane' command.

I cannot access the 'Generate Section / Elevation' dialog box by selecting and right-clicking the section plane. It sends me to the help menu instead.

Please see the attached file for more information. This is a big file (46.9 meg) that has been 'saved as' to two separate section plane files to keep it as simple as possible for AutoCAD to handle.

I was forced to set the 'solidhist' system variable to 0 to delete the solids history and I also used the 'brep' command to remove the history of existing solids to improve file performance. This might be the source of the problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Unhappy Re: Section Plane Issues

Surely someone has run across this issue before and has some idea of a workaround to resolve this problem. I know there is a lot of expertise out there, but I'm going 0 for 3 when it comes to replies to threads that I've started on this forum! Please help. Thanks.

Thumbs up Re: Section Plane Issues

It turned out to be my right-click settings, see attached file. Here's a message string with more info too:

    Mark,

I am always a right-click option user. I personally like the right-click option better than the right-click enter.

But what I thought strange was that you cannot get the generate section menu without the right-click option. I guess Autodesk should put some other ways or options for people using right-click enter like you so that you do not have to go to “options” to change the right-click settings.

    Thanks.

I agree. I access other shortcut menus all the time with the other settings, why not this one? Another annoying thing is that the presspull command won't work correctly unless you have the 'selection preview' set to 'When a command is active' in the 'Selection' tab of the 'Options' dialog box. These annoying requirements cause hours of frustration until the culprit is found. AutoCAD should be more intuitive than that and allow for different settings. There is no documentation that I can find that warns you of these idiosyncrasies either. Thanks.

    Question Re: Section Plane Issues

Issue with Jogged Section Plane Object:

The jogged section plane object causes some objects in the model to disappear even though they are beyond the section plane object. Please see attached file for more information.

Is this a graphics card issue or am I missing something else? Please advise. Thanks.
