Question Curved beams with beams attached?

    Hi.

Is it possible to creat a curved beams (vertically) and attach others (steel, concrete, wood) at equal distance?

See my sketch (roof) included; magenta elements are curved beams & blue should be attached.

At office, we use Revit Structure 2010 and we have a Subscription contract.

For quick exemple, I have created today in Revit an ARCH but..., see attachment.

I'm searching in WEB and with revit Help but nothing.

    Best regards!

Using the 3D option in a beam system this is possible. Here is an example I just put together real quickly. The beams are done with a spline. Pick the beams using the pick supports tool and then close the sketch. In the Beam System properties make sure 3D is checked.

    Enjoy.

Cool Re: Curved beams with beams attached?

Thanks for the answer and example.

I discussed with my user and he told me: In my case, my edge beam is a volume created, no line of analysis (orange color).

Does exists another method of working for a same result?

And more, the paralell bars should be rotated... The top surface of the beam align with the top of the curved structure.

I don't have for the moment a real exemple, only my poor sketches.

Structural beams do need to be supported by other structual elements. I'm not sure if the beam system would work in that manner. Since the supporting beams cannot change dynamically do the other beams need to be auto generated?

Question Re: Curved beams with beams attached?

I read last Friday this information (Challenges with Revit 2010 massing environment) but I don't know if it's a solution?

I gave this link at my user for verification and commentaries.

    What's your impression?
