    Default Saving a family

Hi, I am new to Revit and to AUGI. I was wondering where do I save family files when I download them so that they show up in the correct folders in Revit? I hope I phrased this question correctly so that I get a good response.

You can save the family that you download anywhere you want. You need to load the family into your Revit project after you download it.

as already posted you can save them anywhere. And, you can add any folder you like to the navigation pane on the left side of the Open or Save As dialogs by just right clicking in the pane and selecting "Add Current Folder" so they are quickly available.

I believe you can also drag and drop families into a Revit project. Not sure if this is the most preferred method.

    Have your project open.
Open a windows explorer, and browse to your families.
Select which families you want to import into your project.
Drag them over the Revit application tab.
Then drop it into your project.

    Hope this helps,
    Jeff S.
