Exclamation AUTOCAD - Update Attribute values without changing back to default location

Re-posted in the hope that someone can answer...

I have several drawings with around 200 dynamic block instances that I need to update the Attribute values. The values have been imported using ATTIN from an external souce (they are actually phone references and model types). Previously I have rotated the block instances and carefully re-adjusted the text to give a reasonable layout.

I have no problem updating the values using ATTSYNC but my problem is that it also adjusts the position of the attribute back to the default value wihch means I have to re-adjust all the text again (until the next update when I have to go round the loop again). Does anyone know of a command or other way to effective do ATTSYNC and update the values but not the positions?

I've trawled this forum and the web but not found anything yet.

    Thanks for reading this..

OK --- I've found a solution , and as nobody has replied with an answer I thought I'd note it down in case anyone else has the problem. A way round it seems to be to create an Annotated text that is not actually required in any layout (for example 1:1). Then do an "ATTSYNC" with CANNONSCALE set to that value (ie: 1:1). When the CANNONSCALE is then re-established to the working value (1:50 in my case), the orginal text positions remain unaltered but the Attributes have been updated... great!.
