    Question SCREEN MENU PROBLEMS???

my autocad 2010 crashed earlier this morning while i was in the middle of doing some stuff here at work. so i opened it back up and finished my drawing (i was in 3D mode). so i changed my layout back to "autocad classic" and noticed that all my menus were gone. i went to the options and made sure it was still selected and it was. the picture shows what i'm talking about. but that didn't work, so i repaired my autocad and opened it back up, and it was still there. has anyone come across this or know a way to fix this? not sure why it did this.

I didn't know it was possible to undock the screen menu. Have you tried dragging it to the screen top-right corner?

yes sir. tried dragging it back to the side and re-docking it. nothing has worked. when autocad crashes, you know the left hand side that gives you the recovery list of drawings? well, that's what it looks like whenever it's docked back in place. screen menu stays the same, just docked instead of free floating. i'm so lost on this. i've never seen this before. it's almost as if those files are missing or something.

Have you modified the OOTB menu / CUI? If not, you might try saving your current CUI file then copy of the OOTB CUI from the UserDataCache folder.
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.

not sure what "ootb" menu is. but cui, i haven't touched it. didn't touch anything when all that happened. figured that i would just save over it by remaking my workspace with the original autocad classic workspace. i'd still like to know what caused this or how it happened.

OOTB = Out of the Box or the original file from the installation

No need to do a manual copy these days. Simply go into the CUI editor, select the OOTB CUIx node, right-click and select Reset.

This replaces the selected CUIx with the OOTB version from UserDataCache.
