Revit 2009 Steel Frame Construction

I am a student learning about building systems and am trying to model steel frame construction with revit structure. When I try to put a "slab" in my structure, it is placed flush with the steel framing:




Do I have to offset the floor to get it to sit on top of the beams like its supposed to in a real steel frame structure?

Select the floor and go to element properties. Select the offset in Z direction of the floor "bottom".

So I went to the Element Properties dialog box, and this is what I see:



Is this "Analytical Model: Vertical Projection" option what you're talking about? Because I don't see a "Z-offset" option. Also, when I select "Bottom of Slab" from the Vertical Projection drop-box the floor does not change. I'm sure all I need to do is move it up manually, but I just wanted to check and make sure i'm doing this right.

The parameter you want to adjust is "Height Offset from Level".
