    Talking Detail Items

I'm trying to find some "screw" details. All I can find are bolts and different types of other fastners. Does anyone know where I can find different size screw details? Thanks.

I haven't found a lot of Revit fastener content out there...
What I've done in the past is to go to McMaster-Carr's website. If you search for their fasteners, they have most of their products available in a few cad formats. I'll then either convert that to a revit detail component, or I'll modify it to make it parametric.

    It's a little tricky...
from their home page you can select "screws & bolts"
    then select a fastener type
Then define all the properties you want in your fastener...
Once you have the fastener you want, on the left column it will give you Product Detail info. In this column you'll also see links for 3-D model and Technical Drawings
If you select tech drawings, it will show you an image, at the top of that image is a "download" button. Click on that and you'll have the different CAD options to choose from as well as the 3-d file types.

Told you it was tricky. I don't think they have these for all of their fasteners though.

Ya I'm having a hard time getting any Cad files to show up on that left side. Which ones have you found the Cad files for?

check these out for what I do... <a href="http://www.screencast.com/t/MTdlN2Y2">fastener</a>
    and

I'm pretty sure I've found stuff for the sockets, caps, machine, tapping, drywall, and wood screws at least.
I noticed that different browsers behave differently with their website.
You'll see in the videos that you can access the CAD drawings from the left column, or when you see the "download" button at the top.

    hope this helps.
