Default How is you enterprise CUI setup?

I will be setting up an enterprise CUI for a new install of Autocad Civil 2010. Do I need to partially load both acad.cuix and civil.cuix?

No!!! Do not partially attach Acad.cuix when Civil.cuix is also loaded.

There are definite issues with the Ribbon when you have both a vertical's CUIx and Acad.cuix loaded at the same time, partial or not, enterprise or not.

However, it is fine to attach the Civil.cuix as a partial to your enterprise CUIx.

Just two issues of which to be aware:
    1. If the ribbon does not reappear after exiting the CUI editor, you simply need to go back into the editor and make a workspace active, even if it is the current workspace. This will redisplay the Ribbon when you exit the editor.
    2. Do not place the enterprise CUIx files in a folder with RO permissions to the users. This will cause AutoCAD 2010 Version 2 (or earlier) to fatally crash when the user attempts to save a workspace. However, if the network folder has RW permissions, the CUIx files themselves can still be made RO without issue.

If there are items in Acad.cuix that you want, you need to transfer them into your enterprise CUIx file.

What sort of issues do you know of?

I have ours this way, but haven't had "issues" related to the ribbons or workspaces. I have about 30 people running this configuration.

The only problem that I found was that I had to load the workspaces in the User.CUIx to get rid of the crash. I found that if you make the Enterprise.CUIx file readonly on the RO network then we don't get the crashes. Just to much to mess with everyones custom User file to change at this point. I'll wait till next release.

The Home tab, in particular, will drop panels at odd times.

Every time I talk to my friends at Autodesk about people that partially load Acad.cuix into the vertical's CUIx, they all grimace. There's a reason why Acad.cuix is not partial OOTB on install.
