Default Viewports in Layouts automatically Zoom Extents

I've just upgraded from Autocad 14 to 2005. I am working on drawings that were created on 14. When I'm in paper space and i type MS to modify/zoom/pan within a viewport it automatically does a zoom extents on each and every viewport in Paperspace. I have never seen this on Acad 14 or 2000 before and when i create a new file in 2005 the problem is not there. Your help would be much appreciated.

    Furthermore:
I remember the command 'follow' but that doesn't seem to work, nor the 'ucsfollow' variable.
    Thanks

You know that the ucsfollow variable can have a different setting in every viewport, so you have to set it to zero inside each one?

UCSFOLLOW in tiled model space did the trick, otherwise u have to set it in each viewport individually. Many thanks guys

    Can you rotate a viewport?
Say I've got one that's too tall to place in paper space but if I could turn it 90, it would fit lengthwise

Enter the viewport (activate it) and then issue the
DVIEW command and apply a 90 degree TWIST to it.
    All will be well.

    okay guys…

I know this has been done, but I don’t know how to do it… maybe you can help…

you have multiple view ports… in one view port all (or most) of the colors are monochrome or screened… how is this possible? what kind of strange magic is this? shall I be afraid?

    sorry... got carried away there...
