Default Ecotect? Will it help me here?

Hey - we're working in Revit designing high-performance solar panel layouts for parking lots. Revit lets us look at shading images, but doesn't help us quantify or optimize the layouts, of course. It looks like the solar radiation module would come pretty close to what we want. Anybody have any experience with this kind of analysis?

Yes, we've been doing the same thing, although we've had some issues getting the results from Ecotect to coordinate with those of PV-specific software.

Of much greater use has been the shading and sun-path diagram features of Ecotect. We can model specific strings of the PV array, then use the Sun-Path Diagram calculations to quantify what percentage of the string is being shaded for a particular day of the year.

Interesting. Sounds like it might be helpful - I'll look into it.

    Thanks,
