Arrow Off setting leaders from a block

I have been working on getting this block working for about 4 months now and I have had it working really really well for the last 2 months but the boss now decides he doesn't like it. So here is the goal

I have a simple circle that i want to use instead of text (with qleader command). With out the leader entering the circle.

How i have achived it is via qleader settings and changed the annotation type to a block reference. All works well except the "Offset" value wont off set.

I have been playing with mleader as well but i cant have the leader coming from the center of the circle.

    Any Ideas

Are you using your own block or one of the pre defined blocks? Placement of the leader end is based on the insertion point of your block. So if you insertion point is set to the center of the circle, that is always going to happen. You need to set it for the quadrant instead.

Is the Annotative property of the block and dimension style the same?

What version of AutoCAD are you using?

Here is a copy of what I have. All i want is for the leader not to extend into the larger circle. I really want the off set from origin to work in the dimension style options. And i hate using wipeout.

    Any other ideas?

    I'm using 2009.

Wouldn't this work better as a dynamic block? You could use a polar stretch to make it work. If you want, I could show you one of mine that works similarly.

Its a good idea but I have been down that road and I have an example of the final out come which, like I said, works extreemly well. The issue is the boss wants, the leader line to not have a platform / heads in a straight line between each circle.

This block I have (the one I currently use), uses a leader to achive the movment issue but only starts at right or left side of the block as does a standard leader note.

Are their any other options for this?

Wipeout looks like the best option at this point but it sometimes stuffs up with PDF's and makes the file size huge; I can somtimes use anywhere upto 100 of these blocks in the one dwg file.

I know this is an old post, but it solved my problem with a similar situation.
Using your Stack.dwg I modified it for a conduit callout leader and wall box callout.
I didn't realize that you could start with a leader within a DB.
    Works Great!
    Thanks!
