    Default inventor to revit

I need to get inventor equipment into Revit MEP. If i understand correctly, aec exchange (.adsk export) became available in inventor 2010. Our supplier still works in Inventor 2009. Is there any way to get the equipment converted without me having to buy inventor? are there any converters out there ?
Note to autodesk: could you please add conversion features in your Inventor View?

P.S. i did order a trial dvd from autodesk, but it takes 3 weeks to ship to Canada o.O

Aside from AEC Exchange, the next file to try would be an ACIS or *.sat file. This shouldwork for 2009

The files tend to be 'heavy' for Revit, since they bring in a lot of extra details that the Revit user typically doesn't need. If the component you're working with is an assembly, then you may want to remove any unnecessary parts before you export (like small bolts).

    Good luck!

Thanks for this tip, it helped me allot.
I am in a similar situation where we have this humongous STEP file of piping and mechanical equipment that was created with SolidWorks (I believe)...
It started out at 143.000+ KB STEP file, I opened and saved it with Inventor and became a 530 KB assembly, but all the sub assemblies were put into a default Inventor folder.

So now I have to edit/delete everything we don't need and export it out to a .SAT file for REVIT.
