Default CAD Files clashing with each face

Recently I was given files created in AutoCAD Architecture and when I bring them into NavisWorks and run the clash report I get a clash with each face of the object. I have heard of a setting that will allow me to move up the selection tree to grab the object as a whole.

If someone could point me in the right direction that would help.

    Thanks,

Not sure if this is your fix,but in global option/dwg/make sure merge 3d faces is checked and you can also see in rules of clash that items in same composite objects are ignored
Be careful of the 3d face check mark. What this will do if your not careful, is if you have some 3d dynamic blocks and the blocks have visual states applied you will see all the states combined into one.Not good. Not sure even if the developers thought about this one.Was going to post in the beta section about this.

Yes. Using the Global Options>File Readers>DWG allows you to merge faces. Different options are also available under Global Options>Model>Performance for the standard load behavior (On Load). You can choose Collapse on Convert to a)none, b)composite objects (default), c) all objects, d) layers or e) files.
I have found when bringing in Revit MEP models that have light sources, using none helps as you can then search and select the mesh objects and hide them. In Revit Architecture, you can just use the composite objects and simply select the light sources by the Revit material Default Light Source and hide them. I usually created a search set for this.
    Best regards,
