Unhappy 2010 Revit Generating Views Delay

I am wondering what can i do to improve the performance of my computer. I have a project with many many sphere shapes and when transfering to either 3d views and or plans it hesitates drastically to re-draw the view. I noticed it only happens in jobs where i have modeled the sphere shapes. My first conclusion was a memory issue but my IT guys tell my my computer is more than capable of handling revit 2010.(Plus the job files and sphere family i use are not large in memory at all) My new theory is since it seems to be a generating view issue that maybe i should upgrade my video card? This is a huge concern b/c i have many more jobs upcoming including large amounts of these modeled spere shapes. (Is it the redrawing of the surface of these shperes causing the major delay??) I have a HP Elite Book 8730w w/ 3 gigs of ram and a 256 mb video card. Any insight would be great, i have searched some forums on here about this but everyones seems split 50/50 on whether the video card helps or not.

    Thanks

Video card helps during rendering and rendering only.
Multi cores help during rendering, regens and in 2011 I believe save to central.
The processor and Ram are the 2 things that can boost performance.
64 bit platforms should be faster, if nothing else they allow for more ram.
For what I do, I think the ideal would be the fastest 2 core processor and 32 gigs of ram on Win7. Hard drive speed is also a plus. Faster is better. Ram same thing, faster is better.

Lots of small or circular complex objects I believe give the graphics card a big hit. In these places I create a box or symbol at lower levels so I don't get the performance hit in 3D, and turn up the detail level when needed for extra detailing or display.

Also making sure your section box is on is always a good idea for 3D views.
