Default Question about memory and peak memory

I am using Windows Vista and Autocad Architecture 2009.
I usually don't have TOO many issue with cad crashing, but lately I have noticed that as I open a few drawings at the same time, the Virtual Memory in the task manager goes up and up, but never decreases if I close drawings. I can get up to 1.2 gig just for cad and even if I have no drawings open and just autocad open, it remains at the 1.2 gig. So then I have to restart cad to refresh the memory.

Is this normal or is there a way to have it reset when drawings are closed and no memory is being used.

Yes, it's normal for Autocad apps. (NOT saying it's good software design)

the way to reset memory usage is to close all Autodesk's stuff, and then open the application, When that is inusfficient, shut down the PC and restart
