Export a 3D view which has been placed on a sheet. The result is a 2D file.

    All the best -

That would be useful for exporting a 3D view to bring it into Impression and paint it up.

We call these "Free D" views, because they're so easy to create.

    Hey Scott,

Do you mind going over how you embed a 2d detail into a family content?

    Thanks.

Embedding a 2D detail into family content is fairly easy, it's a matter of using symbolic lines and the tools under Annotative on the ribbon. The concept is that these drawn objects only show in the view they are drawn in. For instance, if drawn in plan view inside the family then they will show in plan view when placed in a project (this is why a door looks like it swings out in Plan view but looks closed in all other views). Similarly a door hinge location (drawn as dashed lines) only display in elevation views because that's where they are drawn inside the family. Ditto with the way these items display if a section is taken in them.
