    Default Chinese Roof

Hi, i'm fairly new in Revit and currently using 2010 version. I been working on this project to design a temple and i got everything going pretty well except for the roof.

Anyone can guide me to draw chinese roof type? One where at four corner curve up. I been searching but can't find anything.

You would need to use the conceptual mass tools to do this. You could model the basic form using the conceptual mass family like I have started below. You would then need to add more detail for say the end rafters, etc.
    Best regards,

That one is going to be a bear, for sure, I think. Not only do the hip edges need to flare up, but so do the eave edges of the roof flare up as they near the corners.

Would like to hear some other ideas of how to accomplish this.

In elevation draw the curves you require for your roof and the draw a roof by extrusion for both front and side elevations. You can then place coping on the edge of the roofs with an inplace family. This is most likely the only way I see it being achieved, or by doing a roof by mass.

We do a lot of roofs with odd curving profiles. This is how I do it.

Sketch your roof plan with detail lines in plan view
    Create an in-place roof
Sketch an extruded shape in plan view for one of your wedges (like cutting a pie)
Sketch a void in elevation view that cuts out everything except the profile you want
Create a separate in-place family for each "wedge" of your roof.

    See attached.

If you do the reverse... Extrude your profile in elevation and then place a void extrusion in plan to cut the solid at your hips you can flare out the eave anyway you like.

Thank you so much. Its exactly how i need it but except for only the corners need to curves, the siding remain flat.

But the eaves dont change except at the corners. Imagine a "normal" gable roof, but the four corners are turned up. I'm working on if I can come up with something now....
