    Default AutoCAD 2011 Performance Issues

Just thought I'd jot down a few glitches that I've noticed thus far w/ AutoCAD 2011.

After minimizing, upon the restoration of the window, the AutoCAD window becomes as small as it can be forcing me to re-maximize the window.

My cursor (which is white) will not show up outside of the pagesetup area unless I turn off Hardware Acceleration. In other words, the white does not switch to back on the area outside of the defined pagesetup margins.

Hatch Ribbon is slow. I'm finding it more efficient to work w/ the old dialog.

I seem to have random drag times. This might be a network issue.

I've also been experiencing these exact issues with CAD 2011.

The minimizing issue seems to go away when I update my graphics card driver, however there other issues w/ having that particular driver version on my PC so I had to roll back.

I'm running the Quadro FX 1700 on windows 7.

I am also having the same issues, especially with the hatch ribbon. I updated my graphic card driver successfully with no change.

May have a solution - at the command line type hpquickpreview, set to 0 (or off). Took care of my issues immediately.

It's good to set HPQUICKPREVIEW off, but using the hatch command, you'll see CAD prompts "Analysing the selected data..." and it goes to "Not Responding" mode.
There is something worse: In CAD2010 and older versions, It was possible to select an object, then run the hatch command and push "Add/Select objects" button. Doing this, The command automatically completed the hatcing process. But in 2011 ver, every selection is forgotten when hatch starts.
I hope the Autodesk team would stop creating such poor-design addons...

We have been having the same set of performance related issues with Acad2011 and Win7. It is running WAY slower than our Acad2009 installations on XP on way slower machines. Part of the problems seem to be caused by the un-necessary overhead for the silly Ribbon and associated sub routines (another rant by many in another forum), but I'm also suspecting Win7's security tools are causing delays. Has anyone tested things with Win7 security disabled?
