Default Change Line type in Generic Annotation

    Hi,

I created a couple of electrical symbols a generic annotations. Although this doesn't use the hole functionality of BIM, I am happy with it. The symbols are always the same size on the sheet, whatever the scale of the view is.

However, I haven't found yet how to change the line type. Revit MEP2011 offers me only the generic annotation line or invisible lines. The generic annotation lines is a little bit too thin and I would like to use a slightly thicker one.

If I go to the additional settings on the ribbon, the line style link on the dropdown menu is greyed out.

    I have attached a sample.

    Any ideas?

    cheers,
    Volker

You can create new lines (subcategories) for Generic Annotations. Not sure where it is in 2011 but in 2009 when you're in the annotation family, if you click on SETTINGS --> OBJECT STYLES you can create new subcats (see attached image).

    Hope this helps.

Just go to manage - object styles - annotation objects - generic annotations
