Default Fire Rated Gypsum Board Wall Assembly

I have rated wall assemblies that are intersecting with a non-rated wall assembly. Is there a way to get it to look as though the layers of rated gypsum board are continuous? What I am looking for is that if a reated wall passes through a non-raetd wall it is clear that the rating continues.

Thanks in advance for any help that may be provided.

split the wall that intersects the rated wall. pull the ends back from the rated wall. Right click on the endpoints of the split wall and choose Disallow Join. Then drag the ends of the walls (or use Align) back to the face of the gyp of the rated wall.

Yeah if you sortof cheat and change the gypsum layer from substrate to structure, this will show what you want.

I can walk over to show what I mean if you want

I usually have my gyp. bd. set the Finish[5], but for your rated assembly, you might could just change the gyp. to to Finish[4] and see if that allows the gyp to be continuous. I don't know that it will though, as I think the wall will still try to clean up at the core (structure) and stop the finish layers at the intersecting wall.

If so, this is where the other two posts should work...mine is just another thing to try.
