Hi,
Is there any solution to transfer that kind of irregular section(hexagonal column)
from ASD formwork to revit or from Revit to ASD. It seems can only transfer regular
section only like rectangular/circle.
Thanks.

It would have to exist in the database first for the transition I believe.
It relies on a database name mapping found in the ASD files. If you have the family created you can then map it, but Revit and ASD share database mapping they don't just pass data on.
Do you mean, make a column family in revit first = hexagon.rfa and
create a new section in ASD section list = hexagon (same name) ?
basically yeah, though I would use the content generator to create the item.
Otherwise I would create the profile in ASD, save it as a database object. Open the Access database and made a Revit name to the item. Then make sure the new family name is the same.
The easiest way would be to put a standard column size that your not using in either program then export, once exported you could then select all types and pick the new type.
Thanks rosser for your infos.
I would take the easiest way(last sentences that you told me).
because after creating hexagonal section in ASD, the icon save to database is off all the time. also can't save to database in ASD formwork.
Thx.
Hans
Yeah I imagine you would have to open the database and manually enter it in, which works well but I'm scared of setting up workflows which are unofficial as you never know when Autodesk will remove abilities to change or convert to xml or something else and then your stuffed
