    Default Viewing points in DTV

I have one user who doesn't need a full seat of ACAD, he uses the viewer to right proposals for new projects. When he opens dwg files, he can see contours, but not point objects. when i open the file in Civil3d, the points are of type AECC_POINT. which i think means converted civil points? how can these be viewed/printed in DTV? is there an object enabler? or some other option?

You should check to see if there is an object enabler of Civil3D for DWG TrueView.

i know that there are object enablers, but they aren't civil points, they're aecc points, which i think are different. also, i don't know which version they were created in originally, so i can't be sure what enabler to use?
