    Default Temp Files

Xp likes to put all email attachments opened in a folder called OLK6.
Is there any quick and painless way to delete all of these files???
Ive tried several things, none of which work, and our IT department also
cannot figure it out. I have hundreds of files residing there that are claiming disk space.

Have you tried the Disk Cleanup tools. Located Start=>All Programs=>Accessories=>System Tools.

I see the identities folder, but there are not any files located there....also made sure hidden files are being viewed. Olk6 folder doen't even exist if you try to use find.
Clean disk isn't the answer. Im stuck on this one.

I just ran a test here.

    The files are stored here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK_random#folder

These may be created as hidden or system files so their veiw-ability
is controlled by the Windows Explorer settings for viewing folders.

You could append your startup batch file with the following:

    PHP Code:
    rd //%temp%
    md %temp

the quickest way i have found to find is open regedit and go to:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security

there you will see a key called "OutlookSecureTempFolder" if you double click to open it you can then copy the path, open windows explorer and paste the path in the address bar.

it is specific to the version of outlook that you have. you may need to dig around a bit in regedit to find it if it does not show up under 11.0, see above. after that the path will never change as long as you don't upgrade. you could then make a shortcut on your desktop that will take you to the directory. you don't need to see hidden files to get there as when you do the files you want to delete are not hidden.

i would recommend not being in outlook when deleting just a good practice.

    Yikes!

Try this: Open Windows Explorer and type %temp% and Enter in the address bar.
