    Default tool for revit

How about a tool that automatically renumbers tags in Revit, similar to the tool in AutoCAD Architecture?

Thanks for our first suggestion via the AUGI forum. So I can bring this up with the Revit team, can you describe a situation where you often have to renumber tags?

When I saw your original post, it was the first one. I hated to rain on your parade and tell you that your item was more suited to the Revit wish list. I thought it would kill everyone's enthusiasm for this forum. But we really should be thinking more Labsy. The Labs focus is really about industry trends and how we can incorporate those into the design process. So as I indicated in my original reply, if you give me the use case for your suggestion, I will pass it on to the Revit team.

No problem, I totally understand your perspective.

Let's say I've built my model in revit. Later on through the design process, doors/rooms/windows are added and/or removed from the project. Since Revit will always tag objects in the order in which they are created, the numbers continue to increment. Floor plans usually have some sort of logical incrementation for the location of object numbering. This usually means at some point, objects will get renumbered en-mass. The only way to do this currently is to use a schedule or work in plan views renumbering one at a time (or become a subscription customer of a certain reseller which has already developed a tool like this).

Thanks for offering to pass this onto the Revit team!
