Default Layer group/filter in layer properties manager.

    Hi all.

I have a drawing with lots of layers so I have set up a load of groups to make it easier to navigate them.

Is there a way to show in the All or All Used list which layers are actually in a group? I've been playing with the drawing, adding layers etc and I'm not 100% certain which ones I have done and which ones I haven't?

    Cheers
    Jonathan

    Search for LayerMaker here...

This will help you not to worry about create your temple file with all the right layers. You are able to create a layer for any department on the fly and still maintain a standard.

Plus you are able to change a layer, name, color and line style on the fly as well...

There are two version right now...

A VBA and a newer C# version but both work about the same way...

    I hope this will help...

Cheers, while that does look useful, I was really looking just for something to highlight which layers have been assigned to a group in the all layer list. Does it do this?

So I worked round it by turning off all the layers in each group and seeing what was left on in the all layers list, simple work around, but an indicator, or even the choice to turn on an indicator to say which layers have been assigned to a group would be useful.

What about using the Invert Filter option in the Layer Properties Manager?
If you have a technical question, please find the appropriate forum and ask it there.

Unfortunately that only works for one group at a time. What the OP wants is to see which layers are not in any group at all. Although you can select more than one group at a time (using Ctrl) there the Invert filter only operates on the 1st one selected.

The only way I can see this (without programming) is to temporarily turn off/freeze, or set some other property to distinguish if a layer is inside a group. But that's what Jonathan's already done. BTW, you can right-click on the group name and adjust the visibility or lock state to all the layers inside by one click. I would advise to create a layer state prior to doing this, so you can revert back after you've done your grouping though.

Cheers guys, and yes using the right click method on the groups was my method of choice

I like the layer state hint though, never used them before.
