Default Stretch grip works only at visibility stage 1

    Hello,
I am very new to dynamic blocks. I started working with them last week. Chris, Opie and Rico were extremely helpful and guided me to the right section.
I started creating a break symbol dynamic block. The block stretches equally from left and right. I wanted to created different visibility stages for the different scales we use. I know I could have gone with scale action but I thought it would be easier for the rest of the drafters who never used dynamic blocks beore to have a list of scales and to avoid mixed scales in a drawing.
I drew in the block editor the break symbol as polyline. I had all 5 stages drawn. Then added to each of them linear parameter and then 2 stretch actions. When the break symbols were not on top of each other, all worked fine. When I moved all break symbols on top of easch other, only in stage 1:10 the stretch action works. When I change the visibility to scale 1:20, 50, 100, 200 the symbol does not stretch. I guess the grips overlap?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

You need to adjust the location of the selection window for the stretch actions for each visibility state.

    Thank you.
Now I understand. I had created the stretch windows on the side and they reamined at there original location and that's why there was no stretch action when I moved the symbols on top of each other.
I started creating the stretch actions while all symbols were on top of each other. Although invisible, the stretch window pick up everything that it crosses, in all visibilities.
How can I lock the rest of the visibility stages so that my stretch window picks up only the object in the desired visibility stage?
    Thanks.

You only have to assign the desired objects to the desired actions.

This block probably could be done cleaner with a lookup parameter instead of multiple objects across multiple visibility states.

I got so far, at least now all symbols stretch. However, in scales 1:10 and 1:20 the grips are strangely located on the side.
    I will keep trying.
I am not familiar at all with look up but am determined to learn as much as possible. Since no one in my office deals with dynamic blocks, I took the initiative to introduce them and the only way to learn is the open web.
Thank you so much for your patience and quick repies

I created many DB's since they first came out in v2006.
I find it very helpful when working with visibility states, to move the items I am working with away from home, say 10 units straight up. This helps to see that all (and only) the items I want are included. Sometimes I would change the color of an item, to track its presence in different VS's.

When I have things as I want them, I move them all back. I always move or copy things a set amount, instead of a random, hard to repeat distance.

As I write this, I am not sure how the selection box works with this method, it may have to be repositioned separately. I am again saddened that I have been forced backwards to a job that remains in v2004, and I cannot test my recommendation. Oh well, I hope I have not caused trouble.

PS. I once made a break symbol with an alignment action, and with a stretch action on the zig, so it could be moved independently, in case it needed to be.
