    My method in sections and elevations is to...

    1. Turn off the visibility of the topo in the view.
    2. Use linework to select all the foundation lines and set them to hidden -or- use detail lines (with pick and lock) and select the foundation lines.
    3. Turn topo on again and your lines will display.

    I think the consensus is (if you're using topo) to turn off topo, use the linework tool to change foundaton lines to hidden, turn topo back on. This way, if you move or change the location of foundation, the linework goes with it.
