    Default Revcloud in wrong direction

I use AC10 and when I draw a revcloud sometimes it closes it in the wrong direction (inverted). The cloud looks correct until I meet the endpoints and the arcs go inside instead of outside. My workaround is to recall the revcloud command and use the select object option and choose the inverted cloud but it'd be nice if it did it right the first time. Can anyone help me out here?

In 08, revcloud prompts if you want the direction reversed, does 10 do the same?

Not if you draw it manually. If I choose the "Object" option, I get the Reverse prompt. When I draw it from scratch and the ends close, the command is finished.

Without cad to play with are you drawing your cloud in an anticlockwise direction?

I can't really say for sure. It happens sporadically, not really consistently, and I am in the habit of drawing counter clockwise. But if I'm not mistaken, this has occurred no matter which way I draw.

If the cloud doesn't close automatically, and you press space/enter it actually asks you if you want to reverse direction, but the default is no ... so even if you press space twice it should not reverse.

What could happen is that your cloud is a bit too complex for AC to figure out which is inside & which is outside. This generally happens if your cloud crosses itself.

If this does happen, issue the RevCloud command again. Press space to select an object. Pick the cloud in error and answer Y to reverse its direction.

That is the workaround I use, just wondered if there was a way to get it right the first time. I'm drawing ordinary, run of the mill revclouds...someteimes even just a circle around an object. Could it have something to do with snap points?

If your cloud is relatively small and you have your arc lengths set too large, AC has a difficult time figuring out which way to go, as others have stated. Also, I've found if you pick your last point on the inside of your first point it will often invert the cloud. I've had the same thing happen and usually making my clouds a little larger or the arc lengths a little smaller has fixed it.

I wouldn't think it should have anything to do with snap points as long as you're not snapping on the object or tracking any snaps. Ortho can mess things up, though.

Ever since OBJECT option has come out, I always draw a polyline and use it to create a revcloud.
