Default LMTOOLS no longer supportes NIC teaming on license servers

I just discovered that LMTOOLS 11.7 and higher no longer supports teamed NICs. If you have this on your server, the Ethernet address reported by LMTOOLS is ffffffff which prevents you from starting the license service since it doesn't match the actual MAC address of your NIC. I've spent the last week emailing back and forth with support and the end result is that it's "unsupported" by Autodesk.

Has anyone found a work around with this restriction? We have 3 redundant servers and I really don't want to break my teamed NICs and lose redundancy/throughput. Server VMs are unfortunately not an option.

Never mind. The problem has been fixed with teamed NICs running. LMTOOLS still reports an incorrect Ethernet address but I got the services running.

How did you do it, for the benefit of others?

Has anyone found a workaround for this issue? We have many teamed cards on various servers that I'm deploying the Distributed license model to.

Can one simply request the license file using the mac address of the teamed NIC's instead of the ffffffff?

Is the only solution for keeping your team to actually install another NIC?

This is disappointing that Autodesk is not support these common server setups.
