    Default Leaders with No Text

If you'd like a leader without any text you can use the Text tool to create one, but there's a bit of a workaround- until I find out if Revit can support Unicode Format codes within standard text via keyboard entry...

    1. Create an aligned dimension and edit the text within the dimension.
    2. Choose the "Replace Text" option.
    3. Right mouse click inside the text field and choose "Show Unicode Control Characters..."
    3. Right mouse click again and choose "Insert Unicode control characters..." and the select the "LRM/Left-to-Right" control code.
    4. Right mouse click inside the text field and select "Select All".
    5. CTRLl+C to copyclip the Unicode Format Control LRM into your windows clipboard.
    6. Start a text with leader and when the text field opens, CTRL+V to paste the LRM into your text.
    7. Click Modify to finish the command.

You should now have a leader without any visible or printing characters or text associated with it!

You can add additional leaders to the "text object" or remove them but, you cannot edit the text in the note once youv'e done this as it's not selectable. The same is true of a dimension that you may have replaced text with only the Unicode character.

    another workaround to choose from:
    1) create new annotation family w/o anything added except naming that family properly
    2) load into project
    3) select that family
    4) add as much leaders as needed

Gee, when you said "blank leader" you weren't kidding were you??? Maybe you should have called it "blank.rfa" instead?!?!?

When you placed the leader in the view it will default to 0 leaders. Increase the number of leader to one or more before placing.

    Another workaround.
    1. Create a text style with a text height as small as Revit will allow.
    2. Start the text tool select the super tiny text style.
    3. Place your leader and type "."
There is text next to the leader, but once it's plotted no one will ever know.

Add enough of these and your prints would look AutoCAD like...

"Why are there these small dots? I thought we were using Revit not AutoCAD?!"

That's the great part, unless you have dozens aligned right next each other you will never actually see the period.

    no one will ever know.
Unless you have on Oce plotter.
Some of the Oce drivers (especially the older ones) crash if you have Text smaller than 1/128"
And THAT wasn't easy to track down!
Go back to AutoCAD? I'd rather lose my right arm!
