Default Fix For Graphical Column Schedule Crowded Text?

Please see the attached image. Any unique workarounds for levels close in elevation, so close they become unreadable? I notice the vertical gap between the text and the "line" representing the level grows when you change the "Horizontal Widths" " For Level Names:" which is really bizarre. I have the schedule scale as large as I can go without being off the sheet. I placed an SR with Autodesk. It seems there is no way to control this vertical gap. The only thing that comes to mind is to hide all the levels and use a spot elevation dragged all the way across the schedule...hoping there are some other unique workarounds. At least with a spot elevation I can control the location of the text...
