    Default Customize Ribbon

So we are starting to implement Revit 2011 and have been using AutoCAD MEP 2009 until recently. I've been reading the threads about the ribbon and just want to confirm some things before I get too carried away.
Is there a way to move the panels around on the ribbon?
When you go through the effort of making a custom panel, can it only go on an "Add-In" tab? or can you choose a location for it?
How are you customizing the user interface to increase efficiency if these limitations are in place?

Thanks for any input you can give me!

    1. Yes, you can rearrange the panels. You can even tear them off and float them similar to toolbars in AutoCAD.
    2. No, they all go in Add-Ins.
    3. I'm not customizing the interface. Other than tearing off panels to put them on the 2nd monitor.

    Thank you for the response.
I was hoping that you would be able to move the panels between tabs, but since you can't make new tabs, that wouldn't be a logical thing to do anyways!
Anyone else have any tips on how to make the UI easier to use?

    Thanks!

Put your most frequently used buttons on the Quick Access Toolbar.

I just had someone today with a similar problem.
Somehow his Tabs (not Panels, but Tabs) got rearranged, so his Home Tab is now buried in the middle of everything else instead of where it belongs at the left.

Anyone have any idea how to move it back where is belongs? I wasn't even aware that you COULD move Tabs.

My Search on "Move Tabs" only turned up this thread.
Search on "Tabs" found the other.
